How wonderful it is that so many of you have so much free time that you can spend you time worrying about how other people cache and what, in your opinion, we should all do about it. If someones wants to cheat and log a find when the did not sign the log, then the only person they cheat is themselves. I don’t have the time or the inclination to check every log entry to see who is telling the truth or not. At the end of the days which would you rather? I spent my time policing caches or inventing new ones. I know which I would rather do.

just a suggestion…..as it seems to be the 2012 bit that is upsetting everyone….maybe you could drop that and replace it (as many challenge cashes do) with you must declare you intention to start….and only caches found after that date count.

Logging our own caches….never. If your that desperate for extra numbers why not go the whole hog and just lie (couldn’t sign the log as too much traffic (in a very very quiet lane))…I have found some that do! or do as some people do and log a find “because I was there but couldn’t find it”

At lot of the time it seems to be “newbies” on the learning curve…..set a cache…ok that wasn’t as good a spot as I thought. We have all been there. Some deservedly “die” quickly, other should be saved. Like many others we carry spare logs etc.

I use the hints if needed, and I second the hate of spoiler pics. I don’t like caches hidden in a giant pile of rubble, or gorse bushes!!. I do like SOME of the rings but on the hole I think they are poor quality caches in a ring, but everyone else seems to love them.

From what I gather from talking to people the objection seems to be to the “placed in 2012” which means they will have to go back to areas currently “cleared”. Basically I think people want to count caches they have already done, so they can do the challenge now this minute. Dave, stick with it Stephen I can see your point too. Perhaps if everyone concentrated on the caches not the arguing then this challenge might become achievable

Personally I am one of those who will never be able to achieve this challenge as I cant get to the remoter parts but I don’t see why that should stop others. I will enjoy getting to the caches I can reach and maybe set a few “Joys of Caching” to help make the challenge achievable.
