Clockwise route starting in Water at the west of the series
Name: Houndtor Wood Hike

Length: 3 miles
Time: Allow 3 hours
CO: dartmoor strider
Cache Types: A wide variety of caches, both size and type, with many of the “small” size or larger. Hidden with good hints because of the tree cover.
Bonus Cache: No bonus cache
Terrain: Mainly on good paths and tracks with a short road section to finish. The path drops quite steeply to the River Bovey which is followed for about a mile before a long climb back to the start.
Parking: In Water at the west of the route.
Description: A very popular and extremely pleasant walk descending to and then along the River Bovey. Almost the whole walk is in the beautiful wooded river valley.
