This is an interesting cache and one for which I was fortunate to be FTF.
As Windrush asks in her note, the problem is knowing if you have qualified or not. She has found thousands of caches and obviously can’t remember more than a small percentage of them. I was fortunate in that my qualifying cache was only found a few weeks before. As Windrush has found just about every cache on the moor, there won’t be any qualifying caches for her nearby.
For those who have found less caches, the best option is to identify a qualifying cache and go for it! But there are thousands of caches out there! I can save you the time of checking mine – all have been found within the last 6 months. Difficult puzzles are probably the best option and I bet a couple of MPs haven’t been found for over a year – but you may need his help 🙂
Our cache GC1DJ6Q “Miss’ Mathematical Mystery Tour – 05” hasn’t been found since last 20th February – so if no one finds it in the next two months it will become eligible. Similarly MMMT – 02 will become eligible in March. I think the problem is not so much how to find eligible caches as how to find ones that one hasn’t done – especially when you’ve found several thousand caches! My method of finding suitable ones was to look at nearest caches that we hadn’t found from our profile and trawl through looking at the right hand column for ones that hadn’t been found since 2010. It takes time but is not an impossible task!
We solved GCPWKZ but not found it yet (which seems a task in itself). We were going to use it until I realised previously found re-awakened caches counted. It is still unfound for about 1 1/2 years now.
This looks like a genuine 5/5 (needs specialist equipment – which is one of the requirements for a 5/5). This ought to solve Windrush’s problem 🙂
Afraid not I found it nearly 3 years ago and can honestly say it’s one of my all time favourites, well worth a visit.
