It's a shame about the Fox Tor Hybrid cache , I did contact the owner last year and asked if I could take it over as I had a stamp made up .
He did say he was going to replace the stamp so did not want to surrender it :???:

It was Friday I went. They won't get published for another month or so. Lots of other ones to place first. In fact I haven't really planned these too well, but I will get there. Wet underfoot? - get yourself some neoprene wellies, they are just so brilliant for the moor

Looks as if you had a good day - was it yesterday? Look forward to these coming out. Must have been rather wet underfoot. Maybe wait until the moors dry out somewhat.

Many thanks for your new blog Dave, most entertaining, informative and of course educational
I do feel sorry for whoever has to check on that there rain gauge
Your method for taking co-ords is to be applauded Dave - if only more cachers would adopt this method rather than relying on smartphone apps, it would make life so much easier :x
I was planning a visit to Ducks Pool this Summer and your route has given me food for thought Dave! I was going to approach from the West, but your interesting route in from Peat Cot Hill may make me re-think things.
Legendry East Devon cacher Stuey has always advocated placing the largest cache containers possible for the hide - as per Grounspeak's own original guidelines for placing caches - and again I applaud your integrity on this matter Dave
One other point worthy of mention - that of ''geo-checks''. While out walking my dog, I regularly check any (found) caches and post an appropriate note on the cache page; due to the remote locations of many of Dartmoor's caches, all cachers should be encouraged to undertake this quick & simple task while caching on Dartmoor - and indeed, if my memory serves my right, I believe this may have been one of the first topics of discussion on this very site............
I'm off to research Paramo tops and neoprene willies - if they serve Dave well on the Moor in the depths of winter, they MUST be worth looking at
Cache On!

I couldn't agree more. I know they will only appeal to the few, but I am trying to encourage "the few" to become a bit larger. Dartmoor has so much to offer and if I can persuade just a few more to appreciate the delight of walking 10 miles for 10 caches rather than for 50 caches, then I will be very happy. They might even place some caches for us to find Maureen
